1. General provisions
These Terms of Use (hereinafter — the Terms) govern the relationship between the operator of the SCI-SPACE platform (hereinafter — the Operator) and the platform user (hereinafter — the User), arising from the use of the website https://sci-space.ru and its services.
The Terms constitute a public offer. By registering on the platform and checking the corresponding checkboxes, the User confirms that they have read the Terms, accept its conditions and consent to the processing of personal data under the terms of the Consent to Personal Data Processing(opens in a new tab) and the Privacy Policy(opens in a new tab).
If the User does not agree with the Terms, they must not register on or use the platform.
2. Age and legal capacity
The platform is not intended for persons under 14 years of age. By registering, the User confirms that they have reached this age and have sufficient legal capacity to enter into the Terms.
If the User is under 18 years of age, paid services are purchased with the consent of a legal representative, unless otherwise provided by law.
3. Registration and account
- The User provides accurate information and updates it promptly when it changes.
- The User is independently responsible for keeping their password safe and is liable for actions performed under their account, unless they prove that the access was obtained as a result of unlawful actions of third parties.
- A single User must not create accounts to circumvent blocks or restrictions or to abuse the platform's free features.
- The Operator may request email or other data verification if necessary for platform security.
4. Use of the platform
The User undertakes to use the platform in good faith and not to perform actions that:
- violate the legislation of the Russian Federation or the rights of third parties;
- involve distributing malicious code, spam, fraud, false information or materials inciting hatred;
- infringe intellectual property rights, the right to privacy or the personal data of third parties;
- involve attempts to gain unauthorized access to the platform, its infrastructure or other users' data, or to circumvent technical restrictions;
- create excessive load, automate data collection without the Operator's permission, or misrepresent the User's identity.
The Operator may restrict access to certain features, suspend or block an account in case of violation of the Terms, the law or the rights of third parties, notifying the User by an available means. In case of gross violations, blocking is possible without prior notice.
5. User content
The User retains the rights to the materials they create: publications, applications, articles, comments, images and other objects (hereinafter — User Content). By posting User Content on the platform, the User grants the Operator a royalty-free license to reproduce it, publicly display it, store it, technically process it and make it available to the public, to the extent necessary for the operation of the platform and the promotion of the events in which the User participates.
The license lasts for as long as the content is posted on the platform and terminates after its deletion, except for technical copies in backups and materials that have already been published as part of event proceedings, unless otherwise agreed with the User.
The User confirms that they hold the rights to the content they post and that posting it does not infringe the rights of third parties. The Operator does not verify the accuracy of all User Content, but may delete materials or restrict access to them if they violate the law, the Terms or the rights of third parties.
Some profile data and published materials may be visible to other users and on the Internet. Such distribution is carried out on the basis of a separate Consent to the Distribution of Personal Data(opens in a new tab). Do not post information that you do not wish to disclose publicly.
6. Events, applications and review
The platform provides tools for organizing events, accepting applications, peer review, payment and publication of materials. The event organizer independently determines the event rules, deadlines, selection criteria and the procedure for interacting with participants.
By submitting an application or material, the User confirms that they are entitled to submit it and agree to the rules of the relevant event. The Operator does not guarantee acceptance of an application, publication of a material, awarding of points, indexing or any other results that depend on the organizer, reviewers or third parties.
Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of materials, must not distribute them without the author's permission and must not use them for purposes unrelated to the review.
7. Paid services
Certain platform features may be paid. The scope, cost and procedure for providing services are indicated on the corresponding pages of the platform before payment. Payment is processed through a payment provider; the Operator does not store full bank card details.
Refunds are made in the cases and manner provided by law and by the terms of the specific service. If a service has already been actually provided (for example, proceedings have been published), a refund is possible within the limits allowed by law.
8. Intellectual property
The platform design, source code, logos, texts of the Operator and other materials created by the Operator are protected by law. Such materials may be used only with the Operator's permission, except in cases expressly provided by law.
Trademarks, logos and event names owned by third parties are used for informational purposes and belong to their respective rights holders.
9. Personal data and communications
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy(opens in a new tab) and the Consent to Personal Data Processing(opens in a new tab).
Service messages necessary for the operation of the account and participation in events are sent to the specified email. Informational and promotional messages are sent only with separate consent, which may be withdrawn at any time in the manner specified in the Consent to Receive Messages(opens in a new tab).
10. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is". The Operator strives to ensure uninterrupted operation but does not guarantee the absence of errors, interruptions, data loss or that the platform meets the User's expectations. The Operator is not liable for the actions of event organizers, reviewers and other users.
The Operator is not responsible for the content of external websites to which links on the platform lead, or for the consequences of using such websites.
Nothing in the Terms limits the consumer rights provided by consumer protection legislation, or the Operator's liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
11. Amendment and termination of the Terms
The Operator may amend the Terms. A new version is published on this page and takes effect from the date of publication, unless otherwise specified in it. Continued use of the platform after publication means consent to the new version, unless the law requires separate consent.
The User may stop using the platform and request account deletion by sending a request to the Operator's email. Account deletion does not release the User from obligations arising before the deletion and does not cancel the Operator's obligation to store certain data if required by law.
12. Dispute resolution
The legislation of the Russian Federation applies to the Terms. Before going to court, the parties take reasonable measures to settle the dispute through negotiations. A claim is sent to the Operator's email and is considered within 30 calendar days, unless a different period is established by law.
If the dispute is not settled, it is considered by a court in the manner established by legislation. The consumer may file a lawsuit in a court at their place of residence in the cases provided by law.
